2 In-Stores, No Waiting

As Jason pointed out yesterday, luckily we still have Reckless kickin' it in the indie store scene. Besides their fine selection of records and CDs, they also continue to bring in some great in-store performances. Tonight they've got a double bill featuring turtablist legend Kid Koala at the Milwaukee store at 5:30 and veteran noise monger Ben Miller at the Broadway location at 7pm.

BEN MILLER

(THIRD BORDER Unplugged, ex-DESTROY ALL MONSTERS) Ben Miller has been making noise since 1969 when he formed the psych-rock group SPROTON LAYER with his brother Roger Miller (of MISSION OF BURMA). In 1976 he joined the noise-punk group DESTROY ALL MONSTERS which would soon see the addition of Ron Asheton of THE STOOGES and Michael Davis of MC5. Miller has been busy throughout the eighties and nineties with other groups including THE SAME BAND, THE OTHER BAND and DIRTY OLD MAN RIVER. His most current project is THIRD BORDER, a group that plays psychedelic rock with similarities to sixties British rock, post-punk such as PERE UBU and GUIDED BY VOICES. He will be playing an unplugged set of THIRD BORDER songs. Be sure to check out their new album on Radial Records, SUN OF WATER, SEA OF LIGHT.
