The abominable weather Saturday night seems like it would have been enough to keep anyone indoors but they still managed to pack them in to the Empty Bottle for Scott Herren, a.k.a. Prefuse 73 in support of his recent release Preparations.

Openers School of Seven Bells, the new project of former Secret Machines guitarist Benjamin Curtis, were a surprise. Soft dreamlike melodies seem to flow forth while bass, electronic beat and some, often violent, guitar follow to create a genre defying style. They also added some support to a track from the new Prefuse 73 album.
Prefuse 73 took the stage backed by some drums and insulated the room with an assault of fractured beats. Some watched, others danced and some appeared to be in the room simply for a place to let the drugs take hold (surely some partook in all three.) Regardless, the dismal weather stood little chance of getting noticed.
