News and Notes: Callum Robbins, CHIRP, Spears, Top 171

///There have been numerous fundraisers, including a few in our fine city, for J. Robbin's and Janet Morgan's child, Callum Robbins. He was born with Type 1 Spinal Muscular Atrophy, an incurable genetic motor neuron disease. The latest way to help support Callum is to bid on eBay for some pretty rare records, merchandise, or drum lessons from his indie rock friends - including copies of Shellac's rare LP The Futurist. [Thanks, PFork]

Dk ///Saturday, at The Beat Kitchen, Das Kapital, The Reptoids, The Hidden Mitten, and Scale Model will be playing a benefit show for the Chicago Independent Radio Project (CHIRP). It starts at 9:30pm, costs $8, and it's 18+. It's also the album release "party" for everyone but Das Kapital.

///Oh yeah, Brittany Spears is in a Psych Ward. Again.

///Bored? Check out the list of Chicago Magazine's top 171 Chicago websites. We didn't make the cut (I can't imagine why), but our internet buddies Theft Liable to Prosecution did.
