///Consequence of Sound is reporting some confirmed acts for this year's Coachella Music Festival taking place April 17-19 in Indio, California.
The following are acts confirmed by Consequence of Sound: The Airborne Toxic Event, The bug, Buraka Som Sistema, Crystal Castles, Drop the Lime, Fleet Foxes, Flying Lotus, Girl Talk, The Hold Steady, The Killers, No Age, Noah and the Whale, Late of the Pier, Los Campesinos!, Lupe Fiasco, Peanut Butter Wolf, The Presets, Sebastien Tellier, Themselves and Tinariwen.
Rumored headlining acts include a reformed Faith No More, Blur and Morrissey. As always there's tons of speculation on this but nothing confirmed as of yet. There's even talk of a Pavement reunion (which would rule the realm).
///Ryan Adams has stated that he is quitting the band he formed, The Cardinals, at the conclusion of their current tour with Oasis in March. Adams stated on Cardinology.com "me- 34-a non smoker and happy, for the first time in my life.. i am excited to finish this wonderful time i have had with the cardinals and whatever new adventures may come after march. atlanta will be my last venture with the band and i am grateful for the time we have had and maybe someday we will have more stories to tell together. i am however ready for quieter times as i think it is very evident i am struggling with some balance and hearing issues." Ryan Adams has a book coming out April 1st (a joke?) titled Infinity Blues. If his book is written in all lower case I will be slightly annoyed.
/// Check out this Neil Young YouTube video for the song "Fork in the Road" which is off of his forthcoming album. That's the new Apple iPod he's holding in the video (hazaaaa).
Strange news indeed on The Cardinals. I got the feeling that (at least for a while) it's the end of his music endeavors entirely and not just the end of The Cardinals as a band.
By the way, Infinity Blues is no joke - I have a copy. Not entirely in lowercase but very odd none the less.
Take care.
