Well, world, now that Lolla's over, we can all "chillax" for a few minutes. But you know what's much better than breathing easy for the first time since Pitchfork? Getting ramped up for the next awesome thing to hit Chicago and this month is jam packed with swellness. The innovative and darling Jeremy Messersmith is hitting my favorite tavern in but a mere few days, world's best cover band Neutral Uke Hotel are ambling over to the Empty Bottle in a little over a week, and RFC bff's Archie Powell and the Exports make their triumphant return to the Chicago scene on the 23rd at Schubas.
The band is sure to debut a whole crapload of new material off their debut LP, Skip Work, so it's high time to get familiar with new single "Enough About Me". Why? Well, because AP&E are an awesome band of dudes who have produced the most immaculately catchy rock tune of the summer. And now, they have a video too!
If you ever wanted a sneak peak into what it might be like to hang out with Powell and the band, this video offers a glimpse. Sure, real life might or might not involve less birthday cake and more pinata destroying but basically, what we have here is a look at the real Archie Powell & the Exports, which is to say that Lollapalooza weekend fried this editor's brain and what I'm saying no longer makes much sense. Was there a point? Who knows? What I do know, however, is this video's awesome. (Note: If any member of Archie Powell & the Exports wishes to use the above paragraph in a press release, you're all more than welcome to do so. In the immortal words of Gayngs... Do your thayng. Be proud.)
