D.R.U.G.S hits up the Clearwater Theater on 12/11

For the past few years, when asked to list a few of my favorite bands, Chiodos would always be one of the first bands I would mention. Unfortunately, that changed recently when the band let their original lead singer, Craig Owens, go. Now, I’ll admit that the band's new lead singer, Brandon Bolmer, has got some talent. I honestly cannot physically bring myself to say that Chiodos’ newest album, Illuminaudio, is not worth checking into, because it just might be. All I’m saying is that I’m team Craig, and I will stand by my man wherever he may go! All girlish crushes aside, after leaving Chiodos, Owens took a little break; however, it was not long before he was back in the studio doing what he does best. Gradually, fans began to gain more and more information on a new band coming to life.

Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows, (or D.R.U.G.S for short), is the newest band started by Craig Owens along with Matt Good, Nick Martin, Aaron Stern, and Adam Russell. What can I really say except that I’ve only heard one song by this band so far and I’m already in love. Owens has definitely come back full force with this band and I can only imagine that their debut album will not fail to blow at least a few minds.

D.R.U.G.S. - If You Think This Song Is About You, It Probably Is

The band’s first single, “If You Think This Song is About You, It Probably Is” was released only a few short weeks ago and was just a small taste of what is sure to be one of the best albums Craig Owens has ever worked on. The track begins slowly, but quickly transitions into an outstanding display of nothing but pure musical talent. It’s obvious that Owens and his band mates genuinely care about this new project and that is something fans of their music will most definitely appreciate.

I have to mention that not long after the band released its first song, the guys also gave fans a video to go along with it. I have to mention this because the video is beyond fantastic in every way imaginable. To be honest, I just watched this video about 5 times in a row trying to think of something to say that didn’t have something to do with how sexy Craig looks, but I could not find words to describe the raw intensity in this video. It has a very dark tone to it, which I like in a music video because I’m a sick son of a bitch! The video is only about three minutes long, so I encourage you to see for yourselves because anything I could say wouldn’t even come close to doing it justice. Also, if you’re into boobs, I’m fairly certain that there is an unedited version of the video you can download where you get to see some!

D.R.U.G.S has been on tour now for just about a week and I strongly encourage everyone to check out one of their shows if possible. They will be playing in West Dundee, Illinois at the Clearwater Theater on Saturday December 11^th and I know that’s where I’ll be that night! Tickets are only $12, so you have no excuse for not being there. Plus, you get to look at attractive dudes all night! Why wouldn’t you want to be there?!
