The HotHouse, where musicians and poets lit up the stage for two decades, will go dark at the end of July. The Center for International Performance and Exhibition at 31 E. Balbo Drive is scheduled to close at the end of next month, officials announced Monday...HotHouse officials said the decision to close came after the organization's landlord presented them with an opportunity they "simply could not refuse" to settle a 2005 lawsuit.

Well...I think this is personally very sad. though I didn't get out there often to see shows, the ones I saw there I really enjoyed. The space was great. They sold Young's chocolate stout and the sound was always good.

I wonder if the landlord sold it to the Empty Bottle to start booking shows there!
