While The Flaming Lips ringing in 2003 may have been my favorite show of the decade overall, in terms of live moments I've covered for RFC, I'd probably have to put the Brian Jonestown Massacre and Dandy Warhols reunion at Lollapalooza 2005 at the top of the list. Similar to the timing of The Lips' performance, I was totally geeked about seeing both bands at the time thanks to becoming obsessed with the documentary Dig! early that year. Then, sure enough, after much rumor and speculation the two bands joined forces on stage for a highly dysfunctional reunion. However, what made the day truly memorable was the fact that I got to meet both bands and watch all the craziness go down backstage thanks to Jed James (aka the host of the radio version of RFC that predated this blog).
Digging further into the archives, I compiled a few of my other favorite journalistic moments from the early years at RFC:
2005: Dizzee Rascal @ Double Door
Adult. @ Empty Bottle2006: Interview with CX KiDRONiK
Gil Mantera's Party Dream @ MetroInterview with Matthew Herbert
2007: Calvin Johnson @ South Union ArtsSXSW: A Tale of Two Bands
yeah, that last Dizzee album kind of lost me...grime was fun for a while, but it just didn't last

Lucky to see Dizzee Rascal back then, he's changed so much even in the past couple years. What'd you think of his new album?
